Join us for an Admissions Flight! This is a short flight often called a "discovery" or "intro" flight. We will schedule a tour of our facility and take you flying to get a feel for the controls. Our admissions flight is designed to be a low pressure way to find out if you want to pursue becoming a pilot. Take flight for the first time!
Becoming a student pilot is the first step as an Aviator. This certificate will help you in advancing through your pilot training. One of our instructors will assist in obtaining your student pilot certificate, you will need it when it comes time for your Private Pilot Examination and all of your solo flights during training.
The student pilot certificate is your license to learn!
At AvCerts Flight Academy, we do everything we can to simplify your training process. We provide nearly everything you need to get started, with the exception of an iPad. An iPad will be used throughout your training for navigation and instruction purposes.
You will also need to bring a government photo I.D., as well as a birth certificate or passport for TSA verification.
Part 61 refers to a section or "chapter" of of the Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR's) that outlines requirements for pilot certification. Essentially, Part 61 is the qualification process that governs how to obtain your pilot license. Under this chapter you'll find Eligibility Requirements, Aeronautical Knowledge Topics, Flight Proficiency, and Aeronautical Experience requirements.
Great question! AvCerts Flight Academy is a full time pilot institution, our philosophy is focused on helping aviators achieve their goals as effectively and efficiently possible. Pilot pay can vary dependent upon the flight operation you choose. For example, an aerial survey pilot can expect to earn between $50,000-$60,000 annually, while an airline pilot starting salary is around $90,000 and senior airline pilots $400,000+.
