The "Solo 16" program utilizes the AvCerts accelerated training model, focusing on full immersion and high-intensity flight operations for your teenager.

Sport Pilot Program (SPL)

The fastest, most affordable and accessible entry into aviation. This course grants you the privilege to fly without a medical exam and just your drivers license for recreational purposes during the daytime.

This program is 10-21 days start to finish (based off of your own motivation level), with a mix of ground courses and in flight training.

What is a sport pilot license?

You must be at least 17 years old and complete a minimum of 20 hours of flight training. This includes instruction with a certified flight instructor, solo flight time, passing a written knowledge exam, and successfully completing a practical flight test. One of the most appealing aspects of the Sport Pilot certificate is that you do not need an FAA medical certificate — a valid U.S. driver’s license is all that is required to get started.

With a Sport Pilot License, you may fly recreationally with one passenger in small aircraft during daylight hours and in good weather conditions. While it is designed for personal and recreational use, it provides everything needed to experience the freedom of flight in a straightforward and attainable way.

The result is a streamlined path to becoming a pilot — focused on getting you safely in the air with less red tape, less time, and fewer obstacles.
